I find that a lot of people are jealous of me these days. I am married with kids that are straight out of the Walton’s. I live in Ireland where the sun always shines, a country where all our politicians are God fearing, altruistic and selfless. My boss treats me like a demigod and is the picture of delight when he sees me arrive at the office.

Well no, not really. My children, though I would die for them, often cause me to tear my hair out. In my little country we have more rainfall than ever (probably due to global warming) and our politicians, like politicians worldwide I suppose, would smile to your face and skin you alive as soon as your back is turned. And as for my boss? Well I don’t have any at the moment. Like so many in this fair land I am unemployed.

Apart from that I have always enjoyed being creative. I trained and worked as an accountant for the past two decades, and before those in the cheap seats start yawning and making for the exit, I also spent a couple of years attending classes at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. Now and again I even manage to convince some poor sod to buy a painting.

So that’s me at the moment. I’m a stay-at-home dad who enjoys the simple things, and manages every so often to jot the odd word or two into Hubpages.
